The two major protected areas of Cyprus, Karpass/ Karpaz and Akamas/Akama, are in the spotlight of the Technical Committee on Environment. A committee that stands for proper development and against illegal, irregular and destructive developments.
One of the tasks on the Technical Committee on Environment action plan, is to conduct mutual field visits to both areas. During 2017 a field trip to the Karpaz/Karpass peninsula was organized, with biodiversity and nature conservation experts from across the island.
The members of the Technical Committee on Environment exchange the know-how on ways to protect endangered species of flora and fauna, realizing that the simultaneous protection of each area, the emergence of new trails and places of visit, highlights the area itself and does no harm.
